Programmes for 2010

Namaskar!

After a succesful 3 rd anniversary of MMF on 2nd May and the elections, the working committe and managing committe met on 26th may to discuss various topics and plan year 2010.

Following are programmes for the coming months:

*JUNE—Saturday 26.06.2010
Picnic at Jardin d’Acclimatation,Bois de Boulogne near Paris. Meeting at 11hrs at the entrance of the park ,metro  station Sablons ,line nr 1. 10 minutes walking distance from the metro,entrance fees taken care by MMF. Visit of the park  (various attractions including Zoo!) till we feel hungry and settle for a picnic for which you are invited to contribute. Come with your ideas for games!

*JULY—Thursday 8.07.2010

‘Raja Rani Travels ,Mumbai ‘(our sponsors and well wishers) are organising a tribute to Veer Savarkar at the port of Marseilles..the place where he jumped into the sea seeking asylum from French authorities. Abhijit Patil of RRTP is personaly taking care of this full day programme under the guidance of   Pandit Hridayanath Mangeshkar . If interested,please contact me for further details.(train travel upto Marseilles + hotel etc)

*AUGUST—Sunday 15.08.2010

Flag Hoisting at Maison de L’Inde and the Indian Embassy in the morning ,followed by snacks and a cultural programme at Maison de L’Inde in the evening. A full day to spend together!!

*SEPTEMBER—’Ganapati Bappa Morya’ on 12.09 or 18.09 as per availibility of a hall. Join all to make it a festive day and come prepared with your
‘artistic talents!!!’ Do get in touch with me if you want to perform anything…dance,music,etc.

Your suggestions for the month of October,Diwali in the month of November and Year end programme in December are most welcome.

IMP:Do not forget to renew your yearly membership for the period May 2010 to April 2011. 50 euros /person and 30 euros for students. You can draw a cheque in the name of MMF and send it to me:

THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF  MMF

Keeping up with the cultural tradition, the  Third Anniversary of MMF was celebrated on 2nd May 2010 in grand fashion  with an exemplary Parisian
Bharatnatyam dancer Shalika, a professional dancer who also conducts classes of Bharatnatyam. For details visit www.shalikabharata.com

Twenty people attended this function including MMF members.

As it was decided during the Annual General  Meeting in Nov 09; during the same function, after pre-consulting  all members through mails,
followings have been elected for Management  Committee (MC) and Working Committe (WC) for the year  2010-2011.

Jananee, Rima Amrapurkar’s gift to MMF

As you might already know that two Marathi films are selected  this year for the Cannes Film Festival; Jananee of Rima Amrapurkar  and Baangdya of
Kedar Jape.

Rima Amrapurkar has kindly agreed to project her film specially for  our members. Jananee has won the Best Short Film Award at Goa Film  Festival and
also the honours for the best story (Rima) and best  actress (Darshan Kharat) at the IFFI. (see attachment)
